CAIRO — The 2024–2025 Egyptian Premier League pressed ahead with Round 6 of the second-stage Relegation Group, where the battle to beat the drop grew fiercer. With top-flight survival on the line, struggling clubs are leaving it all on the pitch, knowing that every point could be the difference between safety and relegation.
El-Geish 1-0 El-Gouna
Talae El-Geish secured a vital 1-0 away win over El-Gouna at Khaled Beshara Stadium, tightening their grip in the relegation battle during the sixth round of the bottom-tier group.

The decisive moment came in the 54th minute when Nigerian striker Godwin Chika latched onto a pinpoint long ball from midfielder Ali Hamdy. Chika expertly rounded goalkeeper Mohamed Alaa before slotting home, despite a desperate clearance attempt from defender Ahmed El-Aash.

The win lifts El-Geish to third place in the relegation group with 26 points, just one point behind El-Gouna, who stays in second on 27.
ZED 2-2 Modern Sport
ZED FC were held to a dramatic 2-2 draw by Modern Sport in an eventful encounter at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the sixth round of the League’s relegation group.

ZED started strongly, taking a two-goal lead through wingers Mostafa Saad in the 17th minute and Mostafa Ziko in the 41st. However, Modern Sport mounted a spirited second-half comeback. Right-winger Mohamed Mosaad reduced the deficit in the 55th minute, before Cameroonian forward Arnold Eba struck a last-gasp equalizer in the 92nd minute to snatch a valuable point.

Despite the draw, ZED remains top of the relegation group with 30 points, while Modern Sport continues to struggle in the danger zone, sitting second from bottom with 19 points.
Enppi 1-0 Smouha
Enppi clinched a vital 1-0 victory over Smouha in the sixth round of the relegation group, edging closer to safety with a well-earned three points.

The decisive moment came early, as winger Mohamed Sherif struck in the 16th minute, converting from the right flank to give the petroleum side a crucial lead.
Enppi managed the game effectively from that point on, frustrating Smouha’s attempts to level the score and preserving their narrow advantage until the final whistle.

With the win, Enppi moved up to fourth place in the relegation group with 24 points, while Smouha remained in sixth with 23.
Al-Ittihad 0-0 El-Mahalla
Al-Ittihad of Alexandria played out a goalless draw with Ghazl El-Mahalla in a tightly contested clash at Alexandria Stadium, as part of the sixth round of the relegation group.
The hosts had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock in the 37th minute when referee Mahmoud Wafa initially awarded a penalty following a challenge on forward Islam Samir by El-Mahalla defender Ahmed Castelo. However, after consulting VAR, the decision was overturned and play resumed without the spot-kick.

Al-Ittihad pushed forward in the second half, making several attacking substitutions in search of a winner, but lacked the cutting edge in the final third. El-Mahalla held firm, and the match ended without goals.
The result lifts Al-Ittihad to 24 points in fifth place, while El-Mahalla moved to seventh on 21 points.
