CAIRO – The Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation, led by Sherif el-Arian, has named six athletes to compete in UIPM 2025 Pentathlon World Cup Final, set to take place in Alexandria from July 4 to 6.
In the women’s draw, Malak Ismail, Zeina Amer, and Farida Khalil will represent Egypt, while the men’s lineup features Mohannad Shaaban, Moataz Wael, and Mohamed Hassan.
This year’s final marks a historic milestone as the first to feature the new obstacle discipline, which replaced equestrian following the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Egypt has been at the forefront of this transformation, having hosted the first senior-level event under the new format during the season’s opening round at the American University in Cairo in February.
The season finale brings together the top 36 male and 36 female athletes from the 2025 World Cup series, following qualifying rounds in Cairo, Hungary, and Bulgaria.
Team Egypt enters the final in excellent form, having secured a total of six medals across the circuit:
Cairo: Gold – Farida Khalil (women), Bronze – Mohannad Shaaban (men)
Hungary: Gold – Moataz Wael (men), Silver – Farida Khalil (women)
Bulgaria: Gold – Farida Khalil (women), Bronze – Malak Ismail (women)
