CAIRO – Egypt will participate in the 5th African junior wushu kung-fu sanda championship that will be held in Algeria during the period from May 26 to 31, announced the Egyptian Federation of Wushu Kung-Fu, under its head Sherif Mostafa.
As many as 20 Egyptian players will take part in the African championship.
This championship is the first activity to be held by the African Union since the spread of the coronavirus pandemic which forced the entire world to suspend the sporting championships which had been a conduit for COVID-19 transmission, said Sherif Mostafa, who is also the Vice President of the International Wushu Federation.
Egypt is participating in this tournament after a five-year halt, he said, adding that the Egyptian Federation of Wushu Kung-Fu has returned to participate in the continental, international and Arab championships to restore its status in this sport.
