CASABLANCA, Morocco – The Egyptian national football team, led by head coach Hossam Hassan, secured a well-earned 2-0 victory over Ethiopia in the fifth round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The match took place at at Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.

Goals from attacking star Mohamed Salah and winger Ahmed Sayed “Zizo” sealed the win for the Pharaohs, who continue to dominate Group A.
With this result, Egypt extended its points tally to 13, remaining unbeaten with four wins and one draw. Ethiopia, meanwhile, stays at three points.

Egypt is competing in Group A alongside Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, and Djibouti.

The Pharaohs will next face Sierra Leone at Cairo International Stadium on March 25.
