CAIRO – Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi announced that the World Karate Federation has approved Egypt to host the 2026 edition of the Karate 1-Premier League.
Sobhi said that this decision reflects Egypt’s growing stature in global sports and its success in organizing international events.
Earlier today, the minister and Egyptian Olympic Committee President Yasser Idris honored athletes from the national karate teams across all age categories following their medal-winning performances at the World Championships, World Cup, and Karate 1-Premier League.
Egypt’s youth, junior, and under-21 teams won a total of 13 medals in recent competitions. Seven athletes have qualified for the World Games in China, scheduled for August 2025.
