CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi said Egypt has started to reap the fruits of the national project for talent and Olympic champion given the Egyptian athletes’ winning of several medals at the 2022 Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Greece.
This affirms the importance of the national project for talent and Olympic champion in discovering the sporting talents in all governorates and offering them all support and care they need in light of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s support to sports and champions, Sobhi added in a statement according to MENA.
The minister pointed out to his ministry’s great role in coordinating with the Egyptian Olympic Committee to ensure the return of the Egyptian weightlifters to the championships after a suspension by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).
Separately, the national weightlifting mission arrived at Cairo International Airport, returning home from Greece after winning 13 medals in the 2022 Junior World Weightlifting Championships.
