Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi met on Thursday with the Qatari Ambassador to Cairo Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss strengthening bilateral co-operation in youth and sports.
The meeting was also attended by key officials from both sides.
Minister Sobhi welcomed the Ambassador, stressing Egypt’s commitment to expanding joint projects and events with Qatar in these vital sectors.
The Minister highlighted that Egypt’s new Sports Law has significantly increased opportunities for sports investment, making the sector more appealing for regional and international partnerships.
Both parties held extensive discussions on plans for upcoming initiatives and participation in regional events, aiming to further develop joint efforts between the two countries.
The Minister also received an official invitation from the Ambassador to attend the opening ceremony of the Arab Cup at Al Bayt International Stadium in Al Khor.
This emphasized Qatar’s interest in increasing its participation with Egypt in major sporting events and underscored the strong relationship between the two nations.
Ambassador Al Thani praised the remarkable development in Egypt’s youth and sports sectors.
He affirmed Qatar’s readiness to boost cooperation in various fields, especially in youth programs, to serve mutual interests and strengthen ties between the Egyptian and Qatari people.
