The Egyptian national handball team delivered a commanding performance at the African Men’s Championship in Rwanda on Thursday, defeating Angola 41-28 in their second group stage match.

With this result the pharaohs secured quarterfinal place.
The Pharaohs established their dominance early, heading into the halftime break with an 18-13 lead before widening the gap in the second half.
This victory follows a strong opening win against Gabon, keeping Egypt at the top of Group B as they look to secure their fourth consecutive continental title.

The match highlighted the technical growth of the squad under the leadership of their world-class Spanish coach, Xavier Pascual.
The team showed great chemistry, blending the experience of veteran stars with the energy of emerging young talents.
This balanced approach proved too much for a professional Angolan side, reinforcing Egypt’s status as the tournament favourites and their ambition to claim a tenth overall championship trophy.

Yahya Khaled earned the Man of the Match award for his significant contributions. The Paris Saint-Germain star was instrumental in both the offensive and defensive phases, helping the team maintain a high tempo throughout the game.
Egypt will now shift their focus to the final group match against Uganda on Saturday at 1 pm (CLT) to officially confirm their advancement to the knockout stages.
