Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi and his Moroccan counterpart Minister Mohamed Saad Barrada reaffirmed the deep historical and fraternal relations uniting the two nations.
During a recent phone call, the ministers emphasised that the long-standing co-operation between Egypt and Morocco serves as a vital bridge for youth development and regional integration.
Both leaders underscored that sports competition must remain rooted in a civilised framework of mutual respect, highlighting the role of athletics as an effective “soft power” that fosters rapprochement rather than discord.
Addressing the importance of maintaining a positive atmosphere, Sobhi congratulated Morocco on its successful hosting of the African Cup of Nations.
He further stressed the necessity of rejecting fan fanaticism or any behaviour that might negatively impact the distinguished relationship between the two brotherly countries.
In response, Minister Barrada commended the initiative, affirming Morocco’s deep appreciation for its strategic partnership with Egypt.
He reiterated his country’s commitment to supporting all efforts that strengthen Arab brotherhood and promote positive values among the youth, ensuring that sports remain a unifying force for both nations.
