CAIRO – The stage is set for a thrilling climax to the Egypt Capital Cup, as NBE Club and Ceramica Cleopatra lock horns in a high-octane final on Thursday, June 12 at 8:00pm (Cairo Local Time).

After hard-fought semi-final victories, both sides are now just one win away from lifting the coveted trophy—and securing a place in the newly revamped Egyptian Super Cup.

This year’s Egyptian Super Cup takes on a fresh look, featuring four elite contenders: Egyptian Premier League champions Al-Ahly, Egypt Cup holders Zamalek, the Capital Cup winners, and one wildcard team granted a prestigious “golden card” entry by the organizing committee.

The inclusion of the Capital Cup champions in the Super Cup lineup reflects the tournament’s rising stature and growing importance on the national football stage.

Earlier on June 12, the action kicks off with the third-place playoff, as Enppi and Ismaily battle for a podium finish and significant prize money. That match gets underway at 5:00pm (Cairo Local Time) at Cairo’s Petro Sport Stadium.

Fans can look forward to a thrilling double-header of top-tier domestic football—capping one of the most eagerly awaited days on the Egyptian football calendar.

NBE Club 2-1 Enppi

NBE Club continued their fairytale run by securing a 2–1 win over Enppi at Petro Sport Stadium in the second leg of the semi-finals, sealing a 4–2 aggregate victory.

Enppi struck first through Ahmed El-Agouz in the 11th minute, but the momentum shifted late in the game. NBE’s rising star Osama Faisal coolly converted two penalty kicks in the final minutes (85’ and 90’), turning the tide and punching his team’s ticket to their first-ever Capital Cup final under coach Tarek Moustafa.

In the first leg, NBE had already edged Enppi 2–1 in a dramatic encounter at Cairo International Stadium. After Ahmed Yasser Rayan opened the scoring, Enppi responded through Ahmed Zaki, but it was Faisal again who delivered the last-gasp winner in stoppage time.

Ceramica 1-0 Ismaily

Ceramica Cleopatra remained on course to retain their crown after a composed 1–0 second-leg victory over Ismaily at the Air Defense Stadium, completing a 3–0 aggregate win.

Midfielder Mohamed Reda netted the decisive goal in the 24th minute to hand coach Ali Maher’s side a place in their third straight Egypt Capital Cup final.

However, they will miss the services of Moroccan winger Ahmed Belhadji, who received a red card in the 73rd minute and is suspended for the final.

Ceramica’s journey to the final was built on rock-solid defending and efficient finishing. In the first leg in Ismailia, they stunned the home crowd with a 2–0 win. Amr Qalawa struck early off a rebound from a corner, and Belhadji sealed the result late after Marwan Othman’s dazzling run.

Their semi-final appearance followed a 4–1 first-leg demolition of Petrojet in the quarter-finals, enough to offset a 1–0 second-leg defeat.

Big stakes

The Egypt Capital Cup continues to raise the bar in Egyptian domestic football, offering one of the largest prize pools in the country. This season’s EGP 25 million purse is distributed.
