Al-Ahly defeated Zamalek 5-3 in the 3rd week of the 2021-22 Egyptian Premier League season Friday night at Cairo International Stadium.
The Red Devils’s goals came from Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng in the 16th minutes. Tunisian left-winger Ali Maaloul added the second from a penalty spot in the 19th minutes.
Striker Mohamed Sherif added third in the 25th minutes as Malian midfielder Dieng added the fourth in the 53rd minutes. Finally left-winger Maaloul scored the fifth again from a penalty spot in the 65th minutes.
Zamalek’s goals came from winger Moustafa Fathi in the 51st minutes then winger Ahmed Sayed ‘Zizo’ scored the second from a penalty spot in the 79th minutes. Moroccan left-winger Achraf Bencharki scored the third for the White Knights in the 90th minutes.
The result pushed Al-Ahly to lead the domestic table with 9 points from 3 matches as Zamalek dropped into at 5th place with 6 points from 3 matches.
