CAIRO – CAF President Patrice Motsepe heaped praises on the new Egyptian Football Association (EFA) Technical Center at its official opening and urged other African countries follow similar route.
Over the weekend, Motsepe alongside FIFA President Mr. Gianni Infantino participated in the official inauguration of the new EFA Technical Center and Headquarters in the 6th of October city, Cairo.
Member of FIFA Council Hani Abou Rida and Egyptian FA Normalization Committee President Ahmed Megahed accompanied FIFA and CAF Presidents in the event that marked the celebration of EFA Centenary.
“Egypt is leading by example, and I urge all CAF Member Associations to have their own Technical Centers soon,” Motsepe said according to CAF official website.
“The EFA Technical Center is a huge step forward. I am really impressed, and I salute the EFA for this great project. We need to see similar projects in Africa, we need to see others following the same example.
“This is a good example of partnership between government and football. We have to spread this message all over our continent,” Motsepe added.
As part of the official opening of the impressive EFA Technical Centre, the CAF President, FIFA President, CAF Executive Committee Members and Presidents of Member Associations took part in a friendly football match at the EFA Headquarters.
Egypt and CAF Legends goalkeeper Essam el-Hadary and defender Wael Gomaa participated in the game.
