CAIRO — The CAF Champions League draw has paved the way for electrifying quarter-final battles, placing Egypt’s top contenders on a collision course with some of Africa’s most formidable forces as the pursuit of continental supremacy gathers momentum.

Record champions Al-Ahly is set to renew their fierce rivalry with Tunisian heavyweights Esperance Sportive de Tunis. Meanwhile, reigning title-holders Pyramids FC will face a demanding Moroccan test against AS FAR.

Al-Ahly vs ES Tunis

The quarter-final draw has set up a blockbuster clash as Al-Ahly faces Esperance Sportive de Tunis, an early showdown between two of Africa’s footballing powerhouses vying for a place in the semi-finals.

The first-leg will be staged in Tunisia between March 13 and 15, before the decisive return leg in Cairo between March 20 and 22.

Both sides enter the tie with a singular objective — a place in the semi-finals. With vast continental experience and deep, battle-tested squads, this clash promises tactical discipline.

The opening leg in Tunis could prove pivotal, but history suggests nothing will be settled before the final whistle in Cairo.

Pyramids FC vs AS FAR

Pyramids FC will face one of Morocco’s most decorated sides in AS FAR, a club that is eager to reassert its presence among the continent’s elite.

With quality spread across both squads, the matchup is expected to unfold as a high-level chess match over two legs.

Should Pyramids advance, they will meet the winner of the quarter-final between Al-Hilal Omdurman and RS Berkane in the semi-finals.

And if the Egyptian champions reach the final, a heavyweight showdown could await against one of four continental powers: Al-Ahly, Tunisian ES Tunis, South Africa Mamelodi Sundowns, or Mali’s Stade Malien.
