The Egyptian Armed Forces warmly received on Friday Feryal Abdelaziz, who won a gold medal at Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Abdel Aziz is affiliated to the Military Sport Apparatus.
The Egyptian karateka won the gold in the Kumite +61kg event after beating her Azerbaijani opponent Irina Zaretska in the final.
Ashraf is the first Egyptian, African and Arab woman to win the gold medal in the Karate Kumite +61kg event in the Olympics, MENA reported.
The Armed Forces congratulated Abdelaziz for her outstanding performance in the Olympics, describing her as an Egyptian ambassador to this international event.
They also congratulated Mohamed Ibrahim el-Sayed for winning the bronze medal in wrestling in the 67kg category at the Olympics.
