NEW YORK – Rising sprint talent Jordan Anthony pulled off a 60m upset at the US Indoor Championships, clocking 6.45sec to win ahead of Trayvon Bromell and Noah Lyles.

The 21-year-old Anthony, who was last year’s NCAA collegiate champion, didn’t match his season-leading time of 6.43, but he got the best of 2016 60m indoor world champion Bromell, who was second in 6:45, and Olympic 100m gold medallist Lyles who was third in 6.51.

Lyles, who earned 60m silver at the 2024 Indoor World Championships, is unlikely to be selected for the Indoor Worlds in Torun, Poland, from March 20-22. Jacious Sears won the women’s 60m in 7.04, AFP reported.

Seventeen-year-old sensation Cooper Lutkenhaus won the men’s 800m in 1:46.68. Newly minted world record holder Khaleb McRae won the 400m in 45.01.

Nathan Green sprung a surprise in the 1.500m, winning in 3:37.65, as Olympic champion Cole Hocker settled for fifth a day after winning the 3,000m.
