Egyptian giants Al-Ahly secured their place in a record-extending 17th African Champions League final after a dominant 3-0 victory over Congolese side Mazembe in the second leg of their semi-final tie.

This marks their fifth consecutive appearance in the continental showpiece.

The Red Devils, who emerged victorious at Cairo International Stadium on Friday evening, have now reached the final stage a staggering 17 times throughout their illustrious history.
They have lifted the coveted trophy on 11 occasions, solidifying their position as the most decorated club in the Champions League.

Prior to this victory, Al-Ahly had already secured 16 final appearances. They have emerged triumphant in 11 finals, while falling short on five occasions. This latest achievement sees them surpass their previous record and set their sights on a historic 12th title.

Head Coach Marcel Koller emphasized the importance of capitalizing on the fervent home support to secure an early lead and stifle the morale of the Congolese outfit. This strategy proved successful, propelling Al-Ahly towards their record-breaking final appearance.

Fresh off their victory in the last edition against Wydad AC of Morocco, Al-Ahly is determined to repeat their success and etch their name further into Champions League folklore.
