Defending champions Al-Ahly claimed victory in a rescheduled match from the 18th week of the 2020-21 Egyptian Premier League.
At the Army Stadium in Suez, Al-Ahly defeated Misr el-Maqassa 4-1 on Sunday night.
The Red Devils’ goals came from striker Mohamed Sherif in the 39th and 59th minutes.
An own goal from El-Maqassa’s defender Mohamed Desouky added the third for Al-Ahly in the 76th minutes as playmaker Mohamed Magdy ‘Afsha’ scored the fourth in the stoppage time.
El-Maqassa’s sole goal came from defender Ahmed Moudi from a penalty shot in the 34th minutes.
The Red Devils are now second in the table with 51 points from 23 matches, 10 points behind leader Zamalek who played four matches more.
El-Maqassa remained at 9th place with 37 points from 28 matches.
