Defending champions Al-Ahly claimed victory in a rescheduled match from the 26th week of the 2020-21 Egyptian Premier League season.
At Cairo’s Petrosport Stadium, Al-Ahly defeated Arab Contractors 2-0 on Thursday night.
The Red Devils’ goals came from substitute winger Salah Mohsen in the 78th minutes as striker Mohamed Sherif added the second goal in the stoppage time.
The victory cemented Al-Ahly to second place with 48 points from 22 matches, 13 points behind leader Zamalek who played five matches more.
Arab Contractors remained at 14th place with 29 points from 27 matches.
Elsewhere, Pyramids FC held to a 2-2 draw against El-Entag el-Harby at the Al-Sal
am Stadium Thursday night in their rescheduled match from the 22th week of the domestic League.
Left winger Moustafa el-Badry opened the scoring for El-Entag el-Harby in the 9th minutes as el-Badry added the second in the 69th minutes.
Centre-forward Dodo Elgabas scored the first for Pyramids in the 29th minutes as centre-forward Mahmoud Wadi equalised in the 79th minutes.
The result kept Pyramids in 8th place with 37 points from 25 matches as El-Entag el-Harby remained at 18th place with 19 points from 27 matches.
