Defending champions Al-Ahly claimed victory in a rescheduled match from the 17th week of the Egyptian Premier League.
At Petrosport Stadium in Cairo, Al-Ahly defeated Aswan 3-1 on Thursday night.
The Red Devils’ goals came from left winger Mahmoud Abdel-Moneam ‘Kahraba’ in the 22nd minutes.
Striker Mohamed Sherif added the second for the Al-Ahly in the 66th minutes as Congolese striker Walter Bwalya scored the third in the 90th minutes.
Aswan’s sole goal came from defensive midfielder Emmanuel Egitor in the 86th minutes.
The Red Devils are now second in the table with 58 points from 26 matches, three points behind leaders Zamalek who played one match more.
Aswan remained at 16th place with 25 points from 28 matches.
