Cairo powerhouse Al-Ahly and Talae el-Geish claimed victories in the 2021-22 Egyptian Premier League as Smouha snatched a precious draw against Eastern Company.
At Arab Contractors Stadium in Cairo, Al-Ahly snatched a 2-1 victory over Enppi.
Left-winger Moustafa Shalaby opened the scoring for the Petroleum side from a free kick in the 76th minute.
Four minutes into stoppage time, Tunisian left-back Ali Maaloul scored the equaliser for the Red Devils. Three minutes later, Maaloul added the winner.
The result pushed Al-Ahly to 3rd place with 37 points from 16 matches. They are two points behind Pyramids, who played two games more, and four behind leaders Zamalek, who played three matches more.
Enppi remained at 9th place with 24 points from 19 matches.
Smouha, meanwhile, was held to a 2-2 draw against Eastern Company at Petrosport Stadium.
Eastern Company goals came from centre-back Mohamed Saleh from a penalty spot in the 11th minute as right-winger Ahmed Meteb added the second in the 47th minute.
Striker Marawan Hamdi opened the scoring for Smouha in the 65th minute as centre-forward Alia Sylla grabbed the equaliser in the stoppage time 90+4.
The result pushed Smouha to 4th place with 34 points from 20 matches as Eastern Company stayed in 18th place with 12 points from 19 matches.
Elsewhere, Talae el-Geish stunned Arab Contractors 1-0 At Cairo’s Military Sports Authority Stadium.
Striker Victory Beniangba scored the match sole goal in the 69th minute.
The victory pushed Talae el-Geish to 6th place with 29 points from 20 matches as Arab Contractors stayed in 14th place with 18 points from 20 matches.
