CAIRO – Four Egyptian pentathletes qualified for the women’s final of the Modern Pentathlon World Cup, the first leg of the current season held at Cairo International Stadium from April 7–13.
Salma Ayman advanced after finishing ninth in the first semi-final group with 1,399 points.

From the second group, Zeina Amer qualified in third place with 1,426 points, followed by Janna El-Gendy in seventh with 1,419 points, and Jana Attia in eighth with 1,418 points.
Meanwhile, the men’s semi-finals are set for Saturday, with six Egyptian competitors, including Mohamed El-Ashkar, Ahmed Osama Abdel-Hamid, Moutaz Wael, Mustafa Abu Amer, Mohanad Shaban, and Mohamed Hatem.
Both men’s and women’s finals are scheduled for Sunday.

Up to 400 athletes from 42 countries are competing in the tournament, which serves as the opening stage of the 2026 World Cup series.
Bulgaria will host the subsequent stage from May 13 to 17; while the third stage will take place in Hungary from June 9 to 13, with the final to be held in from June 26 to 28.
Egypt will host the UIPM 2026 Obstacle Laser Run World Championships in Hurghada from October 15–18, 2026.
