CAIRO — Four Egyptian players qualified for the final of the Modern Pentathlon World Cup the first tournament of the current season held at Cairo International Stadium from April 7 to 13.
Moutaz Wael led the first group in the semi-finals with 1561 points, followed by Mostafa Abu Amer in fifth place with 1547 points.

In the second group, Mohamed El Ashkar secured second place with 1554 points, while Mohamed Hatem finished fifth with 1545 points. Notably, Mohamed El Ashkar set a new world record in the obstacles competition, finishing in 20.15 seconds.
The women’s final is scheduled for Sunday featuring Egyptian athletes Salma Ayman, Zeina Amer, Janna El Gendy, and Jana Attia.

The men’s final will follow women’s final.
The tournament features 400 athletes from 42 countries and marks the first stage of the 2026 World Cup series, with subsequent stages planned for Bulgaria and Hungary.
