The UAE is building the world’s largest airport worth $35 billion in Dubai.
The announcement was made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Dubai, regarding the approval of the designs for the Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, which will be the largest airport in the world.
This came in a post by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid on the “X” platform, where he stated that he approved the designs for the new passenger terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport at a cost of 128 billion dirhams ($35 billion).
Bin Rashid added that Al Maktoum International Airport will be the largest in the world with a final capacity of up to 260 million passengers annually and will be five times larger than the current Dubai International Airport. All operations of Dubai International Airport will be transferred to it in the coming years.
The airport will feature 400 aircraft gates and five parallel runways, and it will utilise new technologies for the first time in the aviation sector.
