Chairman of the Cairo Airport Company Magdy Ishak, said that Terminal 1 at Cairo International Airport is witnessing a comprehensive development to improve the quality of services provided to inbound and outbound passengers.
The development included renewing display screens in all travel and arrival halls in Terminal 1, and providing 75-inch screens to display flight data in the entrances to the international and domestic arrival halls, and outside transit information desks, to inform passengers of the departure and arrival timetables, according to the chairman of the Cairo Airport Company.
Ishak added that a comprehensive plan has been executed to replace and renew all airline scales in the international and domestic travel halls, and to provide a sufficient number of luggage-wrapping machines to keep bags intact, in addition to providing a luggage-wrapping machine in the domestic travel hall. This came in response to passengers’ demands to offer this service.
In addition, ten paratroops were installed in front of the international travel and arrival halls to protect the passengers from exposure to the various weather fluctuations.
Cairo airport has witnessed a great development in the level of services provided to all airport visitors, including passengers, depositors and recipients, by raising the efficiency of the internal road network leading to the three airport buildings to facilitate movement, increase green spaces and afforestation, and open new branches for international brands at the airport.
The development work came as part of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s strategy to offer high quality services.
The step is aimed to highlight the civilised and aesthetic appearance of Egyptian airports, especially Cairo International Airport, Egypt’s first gateway, which contributes to presenting a good image worthy of Egypt’s name in front of guests coming from different countries of the world to visit marvelous tourist sites nationwide.
In terms of services provided to passengers in travel and arrival halls, Cairo Airport Company was keen to expand in attracting a number of international brands in the field of food and beverages.
With regard to rationalising the consumption of electrical energy, strict instructions have been issued to save the use of lighting in all locations and to replace all light bulbs with energy-efficient ones.
The Quarantine and Isolation Department at Cairo airport was provided with two 75-inch screens to display the instructions and procedures of the Ministry of Health.
The display screens were installed in the depositors’ area in the international travel hall and the international arrival hall.
The number of waiting seats inside and outside the halls has been doubled to accommodate the high turnout of inbound and outbound passengers.
