In line with the directives of Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, to strengthen oversight of health, security, and environmental standards across Egypt’s airports, the Supreme Committee for Security and Environmental Inspection carried out an extensive tour of Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport.
The committee, led by Pilot Montaser Manaa, Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation, and comprising representatives from relevant authorities, was welcomed by Pilot Wael Shaltout, Director of the airport. The inspection aimed to assess operational readiness, monitor passenger and air traffic flow, and evaluate the effectiveness of security and health measures in place.

During the tour, the delegation reviewed a wide range of facilities, including Terminals 1 and 2, international and domestic departure and arrival halls, lounges, cafeterias, and duty-free areas. They also inspected passport control, customs procedures, catering services, meteorology operations, the control tower, the information center, and the security room equipped with advanced surveillance systems.
Particular attention was given to airport fences, baggage handling areas, and conveyor belt systems, ensuring smooth passenger movement during peak travel periods. The inspection also covered the EAS ground services station and airport gates, reaffirming the commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and service quality.

This inspection reflects the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s ongoing efforts to ensure that Egyptian airports, particularly Sharm El-Sheikh—one of the country’s most prominent gateways for international tourism—remain fully prepared to accommodate growing air traffic while upholding world-class safety and service standards.
