In a major step toward advancing Egypt’s digital economy, EgyptAir, the national carrier of Egypt, and Huawei, the global leader in ICT infrastructure solutions, have signed a landmark cooperation agreement along with a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The agreements aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation, support Egypt’s economic development, and accelerate the digital transformation of the aviation sector. As part of the deal, EgyptAir will become the preferred airline for Huawei employees worldwide, while Huawei will provide cutting-edge digital solutions to modernize the airline’s operations.

At the signing ceremony held at EgyptAir ’s Cairo headquarters, Pilot Ahmed Adel, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company, emphasized that the partnership is a “crucial strategic step” that will add real value to the airline.
He explained that leveraging Huawei’s smart technology and communication solutions will:
• Enhance operational efficiency
• Develop technical infrastructure
• Improve customer experience across all travel stages
“This collaboration combines EgyptAir ’s aviation expertise with Huawei’s digital innovations, opening new horizons for global market expansion while attracting diverse traveler segments,” Adel stated.

Pilot Mohamed Alyyan, Chairman of EGYPTAIR Airlines, described the agreement as “the beginning of a global collaboration between two major entities.”
He highlighted that the global sales agreement for Huawei employees includes exclusive travel benefits across EGYPTAIR’s network of over 80 destinations worldwide. Alyyan also stressed that the partnership aligns with the airline’s fleet modernization strategy, designed to provide customers with more distinctive and flexible services.

The agreements were signed by Pilot Mohamed Alyyan and Ms. Lang Cao, Vice President of Huawei’s Global Business Travel Sector, to boost Huawei’s sales on EgyptAir routes.
In parallel, Engineer Yasser Omran, Head of the Information Sector at EgyptAir Holding, and Mr. Du Yong, Senior Vice President of Huawei Egypt, signed an MoU focused on digital transformation and AI integration.
This MoU will allow EgyptAir to benefit from Huawei’s artificial intelligence, smart solutions, and advanced digital platforms, ultimately improving operational performance, elevating customer experience, and supporting the broader digitalization of Egypt’s aviation industry.
