This month, the Global Star Alliance celebrates its 25th anniversary, as it was established on May 14, 1997.
On this occasion, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company Amr Abu El-Enein expressed his happiness at the national air carrier joining the largest global alliance, the Star Alliance, which contributed to providing various services and benefits to EgyptAir customers around the world.
The company joined in 2008 to become the twenty-first member of the alliance, which currently includes a membership of 26 international airlines that connect its airlines network to 1,300 airports in 193 countries around the world.
Abu El-Enein added that EgyptAir is co-operating with the member companies of the alliance in implementing an integrated strategy to achieve sustainable development, as well as a future vision to improve and develop the common services provided by member companies to travellers by expanding the use of “digital technologies” to achieve great distinction and positive impact through direct interaction between the passengers and the airline.
For his part, Jeffrey Goh, CEO of the Global Star Alliance, confirmed that the new slogan of the Star Alliance, on the occasion of its 25th anniversary, which is “Together we communicate better”, will always push his companies to provide more services in the future, as the alliance is based on a strong infrastructure of information technology.
He added that he is happy with the innovations offered by the Star Alliance, wishing it to be the most advanced “digital” global alliance that provides enjoyable and comfortable travel experiences for all passengers of the member airlines.
Goh explained that the success achieved in bringing together the leading airlines in the world while continuing to be the customer always the main focus of the alliance in its future vision is something worthy of consideration and appreciation.
The Star Alliance is the first airline alliance in the world, the beginning of the establishment of the first airline alliance in the world, its geographic location, its purpose, and the most important companies operating in it.
Star Alliance is the first and largest airline alliance in the world, and its beginning was with the alliance of five international airlines, namely Air Canada, German Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Thai International Airlines and United Airlines of America, and since then the alliance has been in continuous growth and the headquarters of the alliance is located in the city of Frankfurt, Germany.
Since joining the Global Star Alliance, EgyptAir has achieved a great achievement, especially since no airline in the world, regardless of its capabilities, can cover, through its network, all countries and cities of the world, but through this alliance, the Egyptian passenger can travel to the farthest point in the world. The world through these member companies scattered on all continents.
EgyptAir has had an achievement added to its history. Joining the global Star Alliance has a great return on cost savings, by merging sales offices and sales staff crews to serve each other from one country to another or in a third country in which two or more companies are members of the alliance, and usually benefit from large companies such as EgyptAir.
Strategic alliances provide airlines with the opportunity to expand their capabilities to access the network to many points in the world without injecting additional investments to reserve operating spaces in crowded airports.
