Sohag International Airport has obtained the international ISO certificate (ISO 9001-2015) accredited by the International Organisation for Standardisation.
The organisation granted the certification after a comprehenisve assessment of the airport’s performance in accordance with international requirements and standards.
For his part, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation Engineer Mohamed Saeed Mahrous, congratulated the airport’s staff on getting this certificate, which comes in implementation of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s strategies to improve all services provided to clients at all Egyptian airports in order to increase the number of inbound tourists.
Mahrous said that this certificate is a recognition of Sohag International Airport’s application of the principles of comprehensive quality, according to plans to develop the Egyptian airports system.
The ISO 9001 quality management system helps to manage operations and is one of the most widespread quality management standards in the world. It also helps to develop the business performance mechanism in various fields.
Such a testimony puts the airport in a global classification that fits the Egyptian state and its geographical distribution and position in the Middle East, Mahrous said.
The government has been working in recent months to develop local airports to attract more travellers.
