EgyptAir, under the leadership of CEO Yehia Zakaria, successfully concluded this year’s Hajj season, ensuring the smooth operation of all flights without any issues. The national carrier operated 274 return flights, including 141 from Jeddah and 133 from Medina, transporting over 60,000 Egyptian pilgrims.
Additionally, EgyptAir successfully transported 15,000 pilgrims from Guinea and Mali on more than 50 direct special flights during both departure and return phases. Guinea’s Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah, along with the country’s Foreign Minister and Minister of Religious Affairs, praised EgyptAir for its role in transporting Conakry pilgrims directly to the holy sites after a 12-year hiatus from the Guinean market.
Guinean officials expressed their satisfaction with EgyptAir’s return, commending the high level of service provided on the Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner, which strengthened ties between Egypt and African nations.

Cairo Airport Company implemented a comprehensive plan to facilitate the return of Hajj pilgrims, ensuring smooth arrival procedures similar to their departure experience. Coordination with all relevant airport authorities was crucial, particularly to assist the elderly and those with special needs. Public relations staff were deployed to aid pilgrims, and a comfortable, air-conditioned tent with seating was set up for families awaiting their loved ones.
This year’s Hajj season saw strict oversight from the Ministry of Civil Aviation to ensure seamless and efficient service for pilgrims. The ministry executed a meticulous plan in coordination with all relevant entities to provide all necessary facilities at Cairo International Airport and other Egyptian airports.
