Egyptian airports are implementing a trial version of the Visit Egypt website to facilitate quarantine procedures for travellers coming to Egypt amid the coronavirus pandemic, in order to avoid waiting while crossing the airport gates.
The Visit Egypt application is a passenger application through which passengers can upload their health data (PCR- vaccination certificates), to be sent to the Ministry of Health for approval to receive them at Egyptian airports, and to speed up and facilitate their arrival procedures.
The Ministry of Health and Population clarified that the website allows the travellers to register their personal and communication data and other information about the trip, in addition to providing the vaccination certificates required for entry from each country according to the global pandemic situation.
The Ministry of Health and Population added that the vaccination certificates are reviewed by the quarantine authorities at the airports and ensured that they are correct, which reduces the waiting time upon arrival, and prevents waiting in queues or any additional procedures.
The Ministry of Health and Population, represented by the General Administration of Quarantine, stipulated that those arriving in Egypt must register their data at least two days before the departure of the flight, demanding the need to print its code or keep a copy of it to present it to airlines before taking off and to the quarantine authorities on arrival at the airport.
The website is a co-operation between the Ministry of Health with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Egyptian Tourist Authority, and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities
