EgyptAir participated in the activities of the BIT Milan International Tourism Exhibition currently being held in Italy. The participation aimed to discuss cooperation opportunities between EgyptAir and tour operators on direct flights from Rome and Milan to some tourist destinations in Egypt starting from the winter season 2024/2025, and to invite tour operators to promote EgyptAir.
Captain Mohamed Moussa, Chairman of EgyptAir Airlines, confirmed that the company’s participation in the exhibition this year came within the framework of EgyptAir’s interest in continuous communication with Italian tour operators to present the company’s latest services and developments in its fleet and international and domestic network. He also highlighted Egypt’s unique geographical location and the developments taking place in the civil aviation sector in Egypt, in addition to presenting the sales and marketing strategy to attract more passengers coming to tourist destinations in Egypt and international transit passengers through Cairo International Airport, in addition to promoting medical tourism in cooperation with EgyptAir Hospital.
Moussa added that the Italian market is one of the most important markets exporting passengers to Egypt, in addition to the multiplicity and diversity of EgyptAir’s destinations to all Egyptian tourist destinations that the Italian tourist prefers between cultural and beach tourism in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada and Marsa Alam.
H.E. Bassem Rady, Ambassador of Egypt to Italy, visited the Egyptian pavilion at the exhibition, along with Amr El-Qadi, CEO of the Egyptian General Tourism Promotion Authority, and Ambassador Manal Abdel Daim, Consul General of Egypt in Milan. EgyptAir was represented at the exhibition by Salah Tawfik, Regional Manager of EgyptAir in Italy, and Amr Ezzouz, Manager of EgyptAir’s office in Milan, in the presence of a number of representatives of tourism companies participating in the exhibition.
Salah Tawfik, Regional Manager of EgyptAir in Italy, pointed out that the EgyptAir pavilion witnessed a great turnout from visitors and representatives of tourism companies in Italy. Meetings were held with senior Italian tour operators, during which ways to enhance cooperation to boost passenger traffic on EgyptAir were discussed. The exhibition also witnessed the signing of commercial cooperation protocols by EgyptAir, represented by its regional office in Italy, with representatives of major tourism companies in Italy during the exhibition.
