Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy yesterday witnessed the signing of a number of co-operation protocols between EgyptAir, Air Cairo and a number of international tour operators, during his participation in the activities of the Berlin International Tourism Exchange, with the participation of delegations from 180 countries worldwide.
Ehab El-Tahtawy, President of EgyptAir Airlines, signed a co-operation protocol with a number of tourism agents, namely Trendtours, Berge & Meer and Phoenix to transport nearly 8,000 tourists from some German cities directly to Luxor and Hurghada during the next six months.
Minister Helmi, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Issa, South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda and Egyptian Ambassador in Berlin Khaled Galal witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between AirCairo, its representative, Hussein Sharif, Chairman of the Board, and Sun Express, where the co-operation extends for the next three years.
According to the memorandum, Sun Express will participate in the marketing and distribution of Air Cairo trips between tourist attractions in Egypt and various cities in German-speaking countries like Germany, Switzerland and Austria and a number of other countries to benefit from the marketing power of Sun Express and the operational power of Air Cairo, which is the youngest fleet in Africa, and has a network of strong operation that serves the incoming tourism movement to the cities of the Red Sea and from there to the tourist attractions in Egypt.
On the other hand, Minister Abbas met with a group of investors, during the activities of the stock exchange, to discuss opportunities to attract more investments in the field of civil aviation to 30 million tourists in 2030.
The minister praised the Egyptian participation in the activities of the Stock Exchange, especially from the aviation sector, pointing out that the Ministry of Civil Aviation contributes to the growth of the volume of tourism movement directly through the discounts it offers to various airlines in various tourist airports in Egypt since 2011, and until now.
