Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar said on Thursday the political leadership is paying a greater attention to developing El-Alamein International Airport to comply with the comprehensive development plan and help attract more local and foreign investments to New Alamein area.
New Alamein city is a giant development project that is now being carried out by the Egyptian state, he added.
Manar was speaking while inspecting El-Alamein International Airport as part of ongoing preparations for receiving domestic and international flights in the period to come.
The minister said the airport is an important tourist airport which supports the State’s plan to develop the northwest coast in the country.
The project serves New Alamein city and the northern coast of Egypt and contributes to promoting air navigation and tourist flow to Egypt.
Manar inspected the international and local arrival and departure halls and made sure that all security and precautionary measures are applied to maintain safety of passengers and the airport’s staff.
