By Mohamed Attia

Petroleum Air Services (PAS) has signed a co-operation agreement with Leonardo Helicopters, the manufacturer of the Agusta AW139 model. Under the agreement, PAS will extend its role as an authorised service center in Egypt, providing technical inspection and maintenance services for AW139 helicopters, whether owned by PAS or third parties. The agreement will also enhance the center’s capabilities, positioning it as a leading provider of these services in the region.

The deal includes upgrading the skills of PAS engineers through regular training, both locally and abroad, as well as equipping the service center with new tools and equipment for advanced tasks. Additionally, PAS will benefit from financial advantages and discounts when purchasing spare parts and necessary equipment. The agreement also allows the company to carry out additional maintenance tasks, further developing its in-house expertise.

This expansion of technical capabilities will not only create new job opportunities but also reduce the need to outsource maintenance abroad, saving foreign currency and time. The move is expected to have a positive impact on the company’s revenues and overall performance.
