Nile Air, Egypt’s leading private airline, has launched a new route between Cairo and Najran, Saudi Arabia. The new service will operate twice weekly on Saturdays and Wednesdays during the winter season, and three times weekly on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays during the summer season.
Richard Tan, CEO of Nile Air, said the new route is part of the airline’s strategy to expand its network and offer more options to passengers. He added that the airline is committed to supporting the Egyptian economy by bringing in tourists and foreign currency.
Tan also praised the Egyptian government’s support for the aviation sector, particularly the development of airports. He said the government’s efforts to attract more passengers and cargo have been a boon for the airline industry.
Nile Air is currently operating flights to more than 20 international destinations, including Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The airline plans to add more aircraft to its fleet in the coming years to meet growing demand.
Tan said Nile Air is also focused on expanding its domestic network, particularly in Upper Egypt. He added that the airline plans to launch flights to the new city of El Alamein in the coming summer season.
The launch of the Cairo-Najran route is a boost for Egypt’s tourism and trade sectors. Nile Air is the only carrier offering direct flights between the two cities. With the addition of this new route, Nile Air now serves 13 destinations in Saudi Arabia.
