Nile Air company held its annual iftar at the Meridian Airport Hotel in the presence of Minister of Civil Aviation Pilot Mohammed Abbas, President of the Civil Aviation Authority Pilot Amr El-Sharqawi and Chairman of the Holding Company for EgyptAir Engineer Yahya Zakaria and President of the Aviation Sciences Academy Pilot Azzat Mottled as well as the heads of private airlines operating in Egypt, and a number of ministry leaders and officials from tourism companies and reservation systems, along with a group of public figures, journalists, and media personnel.
Minister Abbas urged during his speech at the iftar ceremony all Egyptian airlines to work and cooperate under one umbrella to push forward and grow the Egyptian air transport industry.
The minister said that the Egyptian market is promising and accommodates all airlines operating amid the increasing growth rates of passenger traffic and air travel at Egyptian airports.
He affirmed that the Egyptian aviation sector, with its private and business sectors, possesses great capabilities that place it in a good competitive position, pointing out that our potentials and capabilities drive us to increase operational rates to achieve greater profitability for the Egyptian aviation sector, in all its sectors and the companies operating in it.
The minister emphasised the depth of the relationship between private airlines and the ministry, expressing his gratitude to Nile Air company for bringing together officials from airlines and tourism for a Ramadan iftar, affirming that the union of airlines and working as one network is in the interest of the aviation sector.
On her part, Kholoud Al-Ameen, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nile Air company, praised during the ceremony the Egyptian civil aviation system under the leadership of Minister Abbas, and the effort made in developing and expanding Egyptian airports and equipping them with the latest international devices to ensure smooth air traffic and increase the capacity of Egyptian airports.
Al-Ameen stated that the civil aviation sector witnesses growth in the numbers of passengers through Egyptian airports; and she expressed her thanks to the Minister of Civil Aviation for inviting officials from private airlines to sit at one table to discuss and solve the sector’s problems in order to attract more passengers and tourist groups to Egypt.
She concluded her speech by emphasising the importance of the press and media in the aviation sector as a strategic partner in highlighting the vital role played by the civil aviation sector.”
Air Cargo restructuring to implement growth plan.
Chairman of EgyptAir Cargo Mamdouh Ghoneim,, issued several decisions to restructure the company in line with implementing the growth plan during the upcoming phase.
He appointed Maher Eldin Zakaria as the head of the economic sector, who previously served as the General Manager of Complexes and Foreign Companies Services, and before that, as the Deputy Head of the Economic Sector, as well as the Director of the Company’s Office in China and previously as the Director of the Company’s Office in London.
Ghoneim also appointed Ola Shawer as the Deputy Head of the Economic Sector, who previously served as the Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors and before that, as the General Manager of Planning. He also appointed Mohamed Kashik as the Deputy Head of the Cargo Movement Sector, who previously served as the Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors and before that, as the General Manager of Imports.
Ghoneim also issued a decision to appoint Mohamed Abdel Aziz as the General Manager of Exports, who previously served as the General Manager of Complexes and Foreign Companies Services and before that, as the General Manager of Exports.
Additionally, Ghoneim decided to appoint Mohamed Rashid as the General Manager of Complexes and Foreign Companies Services, who previously served as an Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
