In a significant move to elevate professional standards and service quality, the Ministry of Civil Aviation announced a new partnership aimed at developing the skills of employees at Egyptian airports.
The partnership, a co-operation protocol between the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation and the Egyptian Academy of Aviation Sciences, was signed at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The initiative is a cornerstone of the ministry’s strategy to invest in human capital as a fundamental pillar for the sector’s advancement.
The protocol was officially signed by Eng. Ayman Fawzy Arab, Chairman and Executive Managing Director of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, and Pilot Ezzat Metwally, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Academy of Aviation Sciences, with Sameh el-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, witnessing the ceremony.
The primary objective of the protocol is to establish joint co-operation in training and professional development.

This includes creating and implementing specialised training programmes designed to qualify and enhance the skills of staff across Egyptian airports and their affiliated companies.
These programmes will adhere to the latest standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the regulations of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority.
El-Hefny underscored the importance of the agreement, stating, “This co-operation reflects the ministry’s commitment to investing in our human resources. Continuous training and skill development directly contribute to raising the efficiency of institutional performance and ensuring the highest levels of quality in the services we provide.”
He added that this approach is crucial for supporting the state’s sustainable development plans within this vital sector.
El-Hefny also highlighted the Egyptian Aviation Academy’s leading role in the region in preparing qualified professionals, reinforcing Egypt’s position as a regional and global hub for civil aviation.
Arab echoed this sentiment, emphasising the protocol’s role in modernising the training system.
“Investing in our workforce is the cornerstone for improving passenger services and enhancing operational efficiency,” he said.
Arab noted that this partnership will enable the implementation of cutting-edge training programmes, ensuring that personnel are well-equipped to keep pace with rapid developments in the air transport industry.
This will solidify the status of Egyptian airports as advanced operational centres on both a regional and international scale.
Pilot Metwally expressed his pride in the collaboration, stressing the academy’s ongoing commitment as a premier scientific institution for aviation education and training.
He highlighted that the protocol marks a new chapter in their co-operation with the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, paving the way for advanced training programmes that will equip a new generation of professionals to meet contemporary operational demands.
Metwally concluded by stating that the academy is dedicated to enhancing the technical and technological capabilities of the workforce to achieve full integration among all entities within the civil aviation sector and support the comprehensive development underway.
