Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy stressed on Thursday, at the conclusion of the certification workshop of the COMESA organization, which was hosted by Egypt, the importance of joint work and uniting effective efforts with all the member states of the organization.
He referred to the keenness of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to strengthen cooperation efforts with African states and expand in opening new airlines. He stressed the need for boosting co-operation with all African brothers in the various activities of air transport, especially in the field of training and exchange of experiences.
Abbas pointed out the importance of holding joint working sessions among the COMESA member states, which aim to contribute to the development of the African air transport industry, as well as to strengthen the regulatory and institutional capacities of the African countries.
This improves the efficiency of air navigation through the management of airspace operations, being one of the main factors for successful implementation of the Single African Air Transport Market and the African Agenda 2063.
For his part, the Director General of Air Transport and head of the delegation participating in COMESA praised the great boom in all Egyptian civil aviation activities, adding that it was agreed that the organization would communicate with all regions and organizations of the African continent to benefit from their experiences in setting the general framework for the project.
