Research assistant Saad Ma’abed, consultant at EgyptAir, has obtained a professional doctorate degree in business administration from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT).
The doctoral thesis, themed “The trend towards corporate restructuring and operational performance”, covered an applied study on a number of global Star Alliance airlines, which undertook a restructuring,including Lufthansa, Air Canada and Singapore Airlines, as well as two airlines of Russian and Kenyan Aeroflot.
The thesis examined the performance of these companies before and after the restructuring. The study demonstrated the significant improvement in the performance of these companies and their ability to fulfill their obligations, as well as the remarkable increase in the market value of these companies after the restructuring.
The PhD committee included Dr Tarek el-Domyati, Professor of Finance and Financial Management at the American University as Chairman, Dr Mona Kadri, dean of the Graduate Studies College at AASTMTas supervisor, Dr Hussein Saudi, Professor of Finance and Financial Management at AASTMT, supervisor, and Dr Farid Muharram, Dean of Faculty of Management and Financial Sciences, Badr University, as a member.
