A high-level South Korean delegation, accompanied by representatives from Global Logistics Egypt, visited EgyptAir’s Cargo Complex at Cairo International Airport as part of ongoing collaboration to support Egypt’s nuclear energy project. The initiative is considered a flagship national project under Egypt’s Vision 2030 development strategy.
The delegation was welcomed by Hesham Alioa, Head of Cargo Operations, and Dr Mohamed Rashid, General Manager of Complexes and Foreign Airline Services, who is also a member of IATA committees.
During the visit, the delegation attended a comprehensive presentation highlighting the advanced logistical capabilities of EgyptAir’s Cargo Complex. Particular focus was given to its role in facilitating the transportation of hazardous materials, including components critical to the nuclear energy project.
Captain Ehab el-Tahatawy, Chairman of EgyptAir Cargo, expressed pride in the company’s contributions to national projects. He emphasised that international collaboration reflects EgyptAir’s commitment to sustainable development and its role as a regional logistics hub. “This visit marks another step in strengthening Egyptian-Korean partnership and advancing Egypt’s economic development,” he said.
The Korean delegation praised the efficient organisation and high level of coordination demonstrated by EgyptAir Cargo. They expressed admiration for the facility’s technical readiness and the quality of services provided. The delegation underscored the importance of bilateral co-operation in supporting the nuclear energy project, which they described as a strategic initiative for Egypt’s infrastructure development.
