Minister of Civil Aviation Dr Samah el-Hefni received Ali Tounsi, Secretary General of the Airport Council International for the Africa Region (ACI Africa).
Attending the meeting were Ayman Fawzy Arab, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, Pilot Wael el-Nashar, Chairman of the Egyptian Airports Company, and Nagy Abu Zaid, Chairman of the Economic Committee of the International Airports Council for the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions.
Talks during the meeting focused on reviewing the development strategies adopted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to improve infrastructure and enhance the airport sector.
The importance of Egypt’s participation in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme was also highlighted during the meeting. This programme is dedicated to measuring passenger satisfaction with services provided, as it is a global tool primarily focused on enhancing the passenger experience and boosting the efficiency of Egyptian airports.
Minister Hefni praised the vital role played by the ACI in developing African airports, noting the strong relations and ongoing co-operation between the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation and the ACI.

The minister of civil aviation also stressed the full confidence placed by the ACI and all member countries in the Egyptian civil aviation sector thanks to its role in deepening co-operation in areas of infrastructure and joint activities related to airport development.
Minister Hefni reaffirmed that the ministry prioritises serving its African counterparts and providing full support through training and knowledge exchange in various activities, as well as strengthening effective partnerships between all African countries.
For his part, Tounsi commended the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s efforts to develop the sector, emphasising that Egypt has a clear developmental vision, evident in its tangible achievements across various fields, particularly infrastructure development projects. He also acknowledged Egypt’s efforts in supporting coordination with all African countries, contributing to improving airport sector efficiency and achieving sustainable economic growth through expertise support and the use of advanced technologies in civil aviation.
