FlyDubai and Boeing have signed an agreement to upgrade 21 of FlyDubai’s Boeing 737 Max aircraft by expanding their overhead luggage compartments. The deal was finalised at the Hamburg Aircraft Interiors Expo.
Dan Carison, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations at FlyDubai, emphasised that since the airline’s launch in 2009, the company has focused on investing in product innovation and enhancing passenger experiences. He highlighted that the increased luggage storage space on the 737 Max aircraft will provide additional comfort and larger storage capacity for passengers, similar to that found on wide-body aircraft.

Doug Backus, Vice President of Cabin, Modifications, and Maintenance at Boeing, noted that passengers are increasingly aware of the importance of overhead bin space and the additional room needed for their carry-on luggage. He expressed satisfaction with the partnership between Boeing and FlyDubai to offer greater luggage capacity within the 737 Max fleet.
FlyDubai currently operates a modern and efficient fleet of 88 Boeing 737 aircraft, including 59 Boeing 737 Max planes.
