FIFA President Gianni Infantino arrived in Cairo via Sphinx International Airport to attend the 14th Extraordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), which gathered CAF executive committee members and African football association heads.
The airport’s protocol team ensured a high-level reception, coordinating all logistical arrangements to facilitate a smooth arrival process. Special measures were taken to streamline entry procedures, reflecting the quality of services offered at Sphinx International Airport, which has become a key hub for high-profile guests and official delegations.

Infantino was welcomed by a number of prominent sports figures, including Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhy, CAF President Patrice Motsepe, and Egyptian Football Association head and FIFA Council member Hany Abu Rida, underscoring the event’s continental and global significance.
Strategically located and equipped with modern facilities, Sphinx International Airport has emerged as a primary gateway for international dignitaries, reinforcing Egypt’s status as a regional hub for major events.
