Immediately after assuming the presidency of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, Captain Sameh Fawzy began holding several coordination meetings to organise work and prepare for the international inspections scheduled in the coming period.
Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh Al-Hefny had issued a decision assigning Captain Sameh Mohamed Fawzy to act as Chairman of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, succeeding Captain Amr El-Sharkawy, to whom he extended thanks and appreciation for his efforts during his tenure, wishing him continued success in his future professional career.
Captain Fawzy has more than 37 years of experience in the civil aviation sector. He previously served as Deputy Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority for Air Safety Standards, held a number of leadership and supervisory positions within the Authority, participated in aircraft accident investigation committees, and contributed to international inspection activities.
Fawzy also served as Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of the Arab Regional Working Group on Passenger Data Protection, chaired the Transport and Communications Committee of the United Nations, and has around 17 years of practical experience within the Civil Aviation Authority.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical navigation and military sciences, in addition to a diploma in air safety.
