Minister of Civil Aviation Samah el-Hefny emphasised that the air traffic controller plays a vital role, describing it as the ” maestro” that runs air traffic.
It also contributes to ensuring flight safety, saving time and costs for countries and airlines. El-Hefny also affirmed that the Ministry believes in investing in human capital as it’s considered the main pillar for building a sustainable and developed aviation sector.
This came during the minister’s attendance at the graduation ceremony of a batch of Yemeni air traffic controller students, graduates of the Egyptian Aviation Academy. The ceremony was held at the Ministry’s headquarters.

El-Hefny added that the Egyptian Aviation Academy is considered a leading regional scientific beacon in preparing and qualifying Arab and African cadres in various aviation sectors, using the latest international accredited training programmes.
This will contribute to modernising the air transport system regionally and internationally.
The minister added that the Egyptian-Yemeni co-operation reflects the deep-rooted historical relations between both countries, and embodies the Ministry’s keenness on supporting and developing human capacities in brotherly Arab countries as well as strengthening the Arab co-operation across training and technical qualification fields.

For his part, pilot Saleh Selim Bin Nahid, the Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology at the Republic of Yemen, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Minister Samah el-Hefny for attending the graduation ceremony.
He also conveyed the greetings of Abdul salem Humaid, the Yemeni Minister of Transport. Bin Nahid praised Egypt’s great support for Yemeni air aviation, as well as the leading role of the Egyptian Academy in preparing and qualifying Arab personnel to the highest international standards.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the minister hourned the Yemeni graduates with graduation certificates, wishing them continued success and excellence in their professional careers.
The celebration was attended by Captain Ezzat Metwally Ibrahim, Chairman of the Board of the Egyptian Aviation Academy Holding Company, Navigator Medhat Abdullah Abdel-Maqsoud, Dean of the Air Traffic Control College, along with several academy leaders and faculty members.
From the Yemeni side, Captain Saleh Salem Bin Nahid, Abdullah Saleh, Regional Director of Yemen Airways, and Rami Abdel-Habib Bin Hawail, Advisor to the Chairman of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, were also present.
