Minister of Civil Aviation Samah el-Hefny emphasised that the air traffic controller plays a vital role, describing it as the ” maestro” that runs air traffic.

It also contributes to ensuring flight safety, saving time and costs for countries and airlines.  El-Hefny also affirmed that the Ministry believes in investing in human capital as it’s considered the main pillar for building a sustainable and developed aviation sector.

This came during the minister’s attendance at the graduation ceremony of a batch of Yemeni air traffic controller students, graduates of the Egyptian Aviation Academy. The ceremony was held at the Ministry’s headquarters.

El-Hefny added that the Egyptian Aviation Academy is considered a leading regional scientific beacon in preparing and qualifying Arab and African cadres in various aviation sectors, using the latest international accredited training programmes.

This will contribute to modernising the air transport system regionally and internationally.

The minister added that the Egyptian-Yemeni co-operation reflects the deep-rooted historical relations between both countries, and embodies the Ministry’s keenness on supporting and developing human capacities in brotherly Arab countries as well as strengthening the Arab co-operation across training and technical qualification fields.
