Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation Mohamed Saeed Mahrous confirmed that continuous training of workers increases their abilities to confront crises and control them quickly and proficiently to preserve lives and property.

He added that conducting emergency experiments at Egyptian airports comes in implementation of the rules of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the instructions of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, which requires the preparation of the implementation of a comprehensive emergency training to train the authorities operating at the airport.

EHCAAN officials also expressed the importance of emergency experiments and the company’s keenness to implement them on the specified dates for each airport.

They indicated that emergency experiments are carried out at least twice a year, through which the efficiency of the airport emergency plan is tested by measuring the speed of response of all parties involved in the crisis, and increasing the ability to deal with emergency situations and events efficiently.

Marsa Matrouh International Airport had conducted a successful emergency experiment through a scenario of the presence of a suspect bag without an owner in the arrival hall, and it was successfully dealt with.

This comes as part of implementing the legislation of the ICAO and the Civil Aviation Authority, and out of continuous training on crisis management for Egyptian airports and increasing the ability to efficiently confront emergency events.
