EgyptAir, affirming its leading position in the Arab air transport industry and its commitment to regional collaboration, has announced it will host the 103rd Executive Committee meeting of the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO).
This significant event is scheduled to take place in Cairo in March 2026 and will gather the chairmen of the boards of directors of all Arab airlines that are members of the organization.
This commitment to hosting was announced during the participation of Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company Pilot Ahmed Adel at the 102nd Executive Committee meeting held as part of the 58th AACO General Assembly in Rabat, Morocco.
During the Rabat meetings, the Executive Committee conducted comprehensive reviews of the latest developments within the air transport industry, assessing the performance of Arab airlines against international standards.
A primary focus of the discussion was the most prominent challenges facing the sector globally, particularly issues related to supply chain constraints, environmental regulations, and the path to achieving long-term sustainability.
The Committee collectively stressed the critical importance of cooperation among Arab governments to provide actionable solutions.
These solutions aim to contribute meaningfully to environmental sustainability goals and the development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) without imposing undue financial burdens on carriers, which could otherwise negatively affect profitability or the sector’s vital contribution to the Arab GDP.
In the context of this pivotal regional role, Captain Ahmed Adel highlighted that hosting the upcoming AACO Executive Committee meeting underscores Egypt’s historical leadership and pivotal role as a vital regional hub for air transport.
He noted that this step embodies EgyptAir’s firm commitment to supporting AACO’s mission to enhance coordination and integration among Arab airlines, thereby raising their competitiveness on the global stage.
Adel anticipated that the 103rd meeting will facilitate in-depth strategic discussions on shared challenges and the future trajectory of the industry, particularly in areas like digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and operational safety.
He concluded by expressing the conviction that joint technological cooperation is the necessary guarantee for Arab airlines to reach the highest levels of operational efficiency and global competitiveness, viewing constructive Arab action as the optimal path toward sustainable development and prosperity for the region’s aviation sector.
