In a move underscoring its pivotal national role, EgyptAir, the Egyptian national carrier, has formally announced its comprehensive sponsorship and appointment as the Official National Carrier for the highly anticipated opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). This event is recognized as the largest global archaeological spectacle of its kind, and EgyptAir’s participation is a core component of a national strategy aimed at promoting the world’s largest museum dedicated to ancient Egyptian civilization.
This partnership is a clear reflection of the airline’s commitment to supporting Egyptian identity and substantially enhancing the country’s standing on the international tourism map.
EgyptAir dedicated its full operational capacity to the preparation and organization of the opening ceremony, providing extensive logistical support and professional services befitting the event’s grand scale.
Integrated teams from EgyptAir Airlines, Cargo, Ground Services, Maintenance & Technical Services, and Air Services worked in concert to ensure seamless execution.
The carrier’s crucial support included issuing international flight tickets for essential participants, such as orchestra members and specialized artistic and technical teams arriving from various global locations.
Furthermore, EgyptAir expertly handled the complex shipping requirements for advanced technical equipment, as well as official invitations, promotional brochures, and commemorative gifts intended for international guests, alongside facilitating the arrival and transport of numerous official delegations.

Central to this collaboration is one of EgyptAir’s most expansive global promotional campaigns, designed to introduce the Grand Egyptian Museum to a worldwide audience and transmit a powerful message of Egypt’s profound civilization and history.
The campaign’s most striking element is a fully customized aircraft, adorned with the museum’s complete identity and logo, which now serves as a “flying platform” promoting the GEM across its vast international network.
This unified visual identity extends inside the aircraft, with the museum’s logo prominently displayed on the headrests of all EgyptAir flights.
Passengers are further immersed in the cultural experience through the broadcasting of promotional films about the museum on the in-flight entertainment systems and the distribution of chocolates bearing the event’s logo as a special memento, ensuring travelers learn about the landmark before their arrival.
The campaign’s reach is also extended on the ground, with advertising banners and the promotional film featured in EgyptAir lounges at Cairo International Airport and in the company’s offices both domestically and globally.

Chairman and Managing Director of EgyptAir Holding Company Pilot Ahmed Adel expressed profound pride in the airline’s designation as the official national carrier for this historic milestone, emphasizing its reflection of Egypt’s grandeur and its thousands of years of civilization.
He underscored that participation in the GEM’s opening is both an honor and a fundamental national responsibility.
Adel confirmed that EgyptAir leveraged all its human and technical resources to support this exceptional cultural landmark, with integrated coordination across all sectors from travel and cargo services to ground services and cabin crew.
He pointed out that this unprecedented global promotional campaign, utilizing the air fleet and worldwide offices, significantly enhances national efforts to solidify Egypt’s position on the world tourism map, stressing that the event is a crucial opportunity to showcase Egypt in its modern image and establish the Grand Egyptian Museum as a new cultural icon that highlights the nation’s soft power and historical leadership.
