EgyptAir officially announced a significant step to reinforce its operational safety and security framework by signing a co-operation protocol with MedAire, a global leader specializing in aviation operational risk management and security solutions.
This landmark signing took place on the first day of the 19th edition of the Dubai Airshow 2025, held from November 17 to 21 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, operating under the theme “The Future Starts Here.” The ceremony was attended by Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company.
The protocol was formally executed by Major General Ismail Safwat, Head of Security at EgyptAir, and Hani Bakr, Senior Vice President of Aviation Security at MedAire, in the presence of Peter Tuge, General Manager of MedAire, and several other executive leaders from both organizations.
The core objective of this strategic collaboration is to significantly boost EgyptAir’s capabilities in comprehensive threat assessment and operational risk management.
Furthermore, the partnership aims to ensure and elevate the airline’s compliance with stringent international aviation security and safety standards, strengthening its readiness to effectively address security challenges and operational emergencies at both the local and international levels.
This protocol is also anticipated to improve crisis management efficiency, reduce unforeseen operational costs, support the company’s expansion plans into global markets, and ultimately enhance its competitive edge within the global air transport system.

Captain Ahmed Adel emphasized that the signing of the protocol aligns perfectly with the company’s strategy to strengthen its security and safety system across all operational activities, noting that investing in advanced risk management capabilities is a fundamental pillar for maintaining EgyptAir’s position as a leading national carrier.
He added that collaborating with MedAire, a company with over four decades of experience, embodies the airline’s commitment to implementing the latest international best practices in aviation security, thereby enhancing the efficiency of its teams and improving emergency response mechanisms to ensure continuous passenger safety and operational continuity.
For his part, Hani Bakr, Senior Vice President of Aviation Security at MedAire, welcomed the partnership, acknowledging the increasing security challenges currently facing the aviation sector.
He expressed MedAire’s pride in partnering with EgyptAir, recognizing the airline’s expertise and pivotal strategic location that connects continents, making it an essential component of the global air transport system.
Bakr concluded that this sustained cooperation reflects mutual trust and a shared vision for developing a safer and more resilient operating environment, affirming MedAire’s commitment to providing its partners with advanced solutions and accurate information to ensure the highest levels of operational protection.
The signing of this protocol notably falls within the framework of the broader Memorandum of Understanding between the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) and MedAire, aimed at providing aviation security information services to support Arab airlines in risk assessment and ensuring superior safety levels.
