EgyptAir Chairman Yehia Zakaria has met with Côte d’Ivoire’s Ambassador to Egypt, Albert G. Doulé, to discuss enhancing bilateral co-operation in air transport, including expertise exchange in training and boosting flight connectivity between the two countries.
Zakaria reaffirmed EgyptAir’s commitment to expanding its presence in African markets and strengthening ties with Côte d’Ivoire. He highlighted the airline’s efforts to increase air traffic between the two nations, positioning EgyptAir as a strategic partner in Côte d’Ivoire’s aviation sector. The Cairo-Abidjan route, currently operating three times a week, was recently reinstated, with plans to increase frequency to four weekly flights in 2025 to offer more travel options and strengthen Egypt’s air links across the continent.
Ambassador Doulé praised Egypt’s aviation sector for its leading role in Africa and stressed the importance of working with EgyptAir to foster economic partnerships that enhance air traffic and investment opportunities, particularly in aircraft maintenance and training.
The meeting was attended by Mohamed Alayan, Chairman of EgyptAir Airlines; Reem Arabi, Head of Alliances and International Relations at EgyptAir Holding Company; and Amr Adawy, Head of Commercial Affairs at EgyptAir Airlines.
